We'll Eat You Up, We Love You So
Hey guys, I hope you're all enjoying the last few days of summer. You know how I was telling you about that really hot August weather NYC usually gets, but never showed it's face this summer? Well, it's here now. Just in time for the beginning of September, and it's so brutal that I've been staying inside as much as possible. Something tells me we won't be seeing Fall's handsome face any time soon.
All the time I spent inside did have it's perks though. I chose to wear this awesome skirt because I made it myself! I found this great print at Mood Fabrics and it came out perfect! This is by far one of my fav pieces now. You can definitely bet I'm making more clothing after the way this turned out. I have a ton of ideas already...

About A Girl
I went perusing through thrift shops the other day and found this t-shirt. I ended up cut the sleeves off and hemming the sides, then I paired it with distressed shorts that I've had for forever. I ripped holes in these tights myself and love pairing them with my Docs for a rugged look. It made me so happy when I found this shirt because it reminds me of the 90s and I have great memories from that time period. Do you guys have a favorite band that brings you back to a happy time in your life?
August Inspiration
August is usually the hottest month of the year, especially here in New York. The heat is pretty unbearable and beats down on the hot concrete with barely any shade because of the lack of trees. There's really no escaping it unless you stay inside in the comfort of the cool A.C., or head to one of the beaches in Long Island. Surprisingly, this August has been a LOT cooler compared to past summers. I've actually been able to get away with wearing boots and tights (as long as I'm wearing light clothing). My inspirations behind a few of my looks this month include:
- Ripped tights
- Distressed jean shorts
- Airy kimonos
- Animal print
- Thigh high socks
- Cut-off tees
- Baby-doll dresses
- Boots
- 90s grunge

315 Bowery
This is by far one of my favorite T-shirts that I got down on St. Marks Place. Even though CB's closed before I lived out here and had a chance to visit it, I definitely would have been a regular there had I moved here earlier. My boyfriend has a ton of original CBGB shirts (that are unfortunately too big for me, but I'd be killed if I tried getting my hands on them anyway) because he worked there for four years. I wish the Bowery still had the grit it did back then, but that was a different time. Now it's over run with yoga studios and sushi restaurants. There is one store on St. Marks that's been there since the day Iggy first played at CBGB's, it's called Trash & Vaudeville. They also have a website, check it out! It's one of my favorite stores and still has the grit of early punk rock.
I paired the shirt with lace-trimmed shorts and a kimono for a more feminine look. I got these boots on sale at Urban Outfitters a couple seasons back. Their post-holiday sales fucking rock.

It's Good To Be Alive
Snapped a few quick ones before leaving for the Imelda May show. I figured people would be dressing the part and there was going to be a lot of victory rolls and and high-waist skirts, but I was feeling more 90's grunge ( in honor of Veruca Salt whom I saw a week earlier). Imelda looked fantastic as always and the boyfriend and I had an amazing time.
